Once choosing the best shipping service for your business, you should also understand the specific package sizes and dimensions to help you meet all the service requirements. Knowing the size and the weight of your package determines the price you will pay for sending it, so it is best to know all possibilities USPS offers when it comes to packaging.

- Priority Mail Express (PME)
- Priority Mail (PM)

Packaging for Priority Mail Express (PME)
For Priority Mail Express, your package must be up to 70 lbs. and its Length + Girth must be up to 108 inches. If you are sending Flat Rate Envelope the weight would be the same at 70 lbs and the size of the envelope is 12-1/2" x 9-1/2". Size of Padded Flat Rate Envelope is the same while of Legal Flat Rate Envelope it is 15″ x 9 1/2″.
Shipping supplies that USPS offers for PME can be ordered for free, here. You can also order boxes for dual-use, for PME and PM at the same place.
Packaging for Priority Mail (PM)
For Priority Mail, your package must be up to 70 lbs. and its Length + Girth must be up to 108 inches. If you are sending Flat Rate Envelope the weight would be the same at 70 lbs and the size of the envelope is 12-1/2" x 9-1/2" – for more info click here. Size of Padded Flat Rate Envelope is the same while of Legal Flat Rate Envelope it is 15″ x 9 1/2″. Using this service, you have a choice to use your package, or you can use USPS branded PM boxes.
If you are using Flat Rates you have to use USPS branded boxes (i.e. for PM Small Flat Rate Box price you have to use PM Small Flat Rate Box). All PM shipping supplies you can find here, as well as those for dual use for PM and PME.

The PM Medium Flat Rate Box comes in two sizes:
- Medium Flat Rate Box 1: 11 x 8.5 x 5.5 inches – with top loading.
- Medium Flat Rate Box 2: 14 x 12 x 3.5 inches – with side loading.

Packaging for Ground Advantage Package
For Ground Advantage, your package must be up to 70lbs. and its maximum size 130” combined Length + Girth. For GA there are no USPS branded boxes (like there are for PM and PME), so you would need to use your own packaging.
