How do I add a credit card as a new payment method?
blue allows you to add multiple payment methods to your account and to set one of them as your default method. You can easily add a credit card as a new payment method by completing the following steps:
1. Log into your blue account, go to Account and then click on the Payments>My Payment Methods page.
2. Click Add New, as shown below.
3. Choose Credit Card and enter data from the credit card you plan to use.
4. When you are done, click Create.
Your credit card is added as a new payment method to your account as shown in the image below. You can choose to set the card you just entered as a default payment method, by clicking on Set As Default.
To add funds to your account balance, simply click the Add Funds button and enter the desired amount.
Due to recent changes with our payment provider, starting April 17th 2023 there will be a passthrough credit card fee of:
- 2.9%+$0.3 per transaction for as US based credit card.
- 3.9%+$0.3 per transaction for foreign credit cards.
To avoid incurring this credit card fee, we strongly recommend considering alternative payment methods such as ACH ($1000 per transaction minimum) or direct wire transfer. These payment methods do not carry the 3% fee and can help you save on transaction costs.
